I am a passionate and self-driven leader and communicator, with extensive experience in a wide variety of projects, technologies, and leadership methodologies. I implement high-impact solutions for both non-profits and businesses, especially focused on workflow automations and harnessing AI to increase organization impact while lowering costs. I have over 10 years of experience in cross-cultural leadership roles. I love good books, foreign languages, and great coffee. I seek to use technology and permaculture to make the world a better place.

Work Experience

Localization Director

Waha | 2024 - Present

I am currently on the executive leadership team with the non-profit, Waha, commited to work with them to see their app and curriculum launched in over 100 languages.

  • Directed the creation of software tools to decrease the labor commitment for localization volunteers. Before these changes, a curriculum localization would take 6+ months of volunteer labor to ship. Now it can be done in as little as 20 hours of work.
  • Spearheaded the translation, recording, and deployment of Waha’s mobile app and 500-lesson curriculum into 13 new languages in 8 months (as of October 2024).
  • Functioned as Waha’s Interim Executive Director for 2 months while cofounders took sabbatical. During this time I lead an international, multicultural team of professionals and volunteers towards the organization’s goals.
  • Managed the aquisition and curration of license agreements for usage of over 90 third-party intellectual properties, for usage and distribution within the Waha ecosystem. (Including text, audio, and video-based Bible translations, documentaries, books, and more.)

Technology Consultant

Self-Employed | 2014 - Present

I offer consultation services to a variety of organizations and individuals, specifically with the focus of harnessing technology to better accomplish their professional and personal goals, with an emphasis on privacy friendly, FOSS software solutions.

  • AI-enabled workflow automations for both non-profits and for-profit businesses using tools like n8n and Zapier.
  • Extensive implementation, usage, and automated integrations of online communication tools and protocols, including Email Marketing tools (Mailchimp, Zoho Campaign, Klaviyo), Video Conferencing tools (Jitsi, MS Teams, Zoom), Instant Messaging tools (Element, WhatsApp, Signal, Slack, etc.), and communication automations and syndication tools (Zapier, SKEDit, RSS).
  • Creation, deployment, administration, and onboarding new users to numerous websites with a variety of CMSs (incl. WordPress, Hugo, NetlifyCMS, Forestry.io, Mailchimp, Shopify, and WooCommerce).
  • Deployment and administration of a variety of self-hosted, Linux-based cloud solutions, including a P2P video distribution server for Creative Commons content creators, secure file sharing and groupware solutions (Nextcloud, Wordpress as a hardened CRM), customized (self-hosted) email servers, and more.
  • Providing coaching and training for clients in best practices for their technology/communications goals, with an emphasis on privacy, security, and ethical technology usage.

Global Worker

ACOP Canada | 2014 - 2024

Working alongside a variety of Christian ministries and churches around the world to help them accomplish their ministerial, aid/relief, and community goals. This included directing social justice programs, teaching classes on various church and ministry related topics, and organizing/managing various church/ministry events.

  • Lead relief and fundraising efforts to provide aid and relief to earthquake survivors after the 2023 earthquakes in Türkiye and Syria.
  • Developed and distributed a rapidly deployable dry-composting toilet system that provided safe human waste desposal without the need of water to help combat a cholera outbreak in the Turkish earthquake zone. Deployed several hundred of these emergency toilets to some of the areas hardest-hit by the earthquake, and made the plans available under a Creative Commons license, so they could be easily deployed in future disasters.
  • Founded and ran Ankara Refugee Ministry which was an aid distribution and work training program aimed at helping refugees living in Ankara, Türkiye by meeting both short-term and long-term needs. This project was done in partnership with Kurtuluş Church, alongside three other churches in Ankara. At its peak, we distributed hundreds of food boxes to refugee families each week. I started the project, and lead it from its conception to it having 6,000 registered families from Syria, Iraq, and Iran receiving regular aid.

Software Developer

Aspen Films (Formerly, Jenkins Media) | 2011 - 2014

Jenkins Media does videography for dance recital, performance, and adjudication events. Many of these events involved producing multiple video and audio files for hundreds — sometimes thousands — of dancers and performances. I lead the creation of an online management system that Jenkins Media harnessed to automate the transcoding of the thousands of media files we created at each event. Those transcoded videos were then distributed to the performers through that same online system.

  • Designed and developed full-stack media management and distribution platform, including custom JavaScript, PHP, and MySQL.
  • Filmed hundreds of dance performance videos, requiring working understanding of Adobe Premiere and DSLR cameras.
  • Made use of advanced scripting tools and the FFMPEG transcoding library to automate post‑processing and dynamic content generation.

Guitar Teacher and Curriculum Developer

Self Employed | 2007 - 2010

Designed and developed custom guitar curriculum, including chord charts and demonstration images, and sample music. Used that curriculum to teach multiple students, including the entire Grade 9 class of Hudson Bay Composite High in 2010.
